IS350 to a G37S coupe MT???
Lexus uses some BS eco-mentalist paint thing to make it somehow better for the environment. It chips so easily vs other cars I've owned including Nissan/Infinitis (including a G35 
).

That's what I thought too, but even though people say the IS paint is thin (and it is, iMO) it holds up pretty well. I had an accident last year where I bumped into another car, and the paint held up perfectly (even though it was very low speed) No cracks, chips, nothing!

You are right... the IS isn't a competitor.... it's better. End of subject.

It all comes down as to which car you prefer. ISX50 for luxury and features + nicer interior material and design. G37S MT or 350z if you want to go with the pure sports for handling looks or if you plan to bring the car to track. It's better that you know which car is more fit for your needs.
Also, the new designed G engine will be DI engine as well so you may want to wait for it.
