2006 is250 Questions!
so i have had my 2006 for almost 2 months now. Did some minor things to it including HID headlights and fogs. I want to get a little more power from the engine, but do minimal work. Suggestions? Intake? Also, what is the best way to clean the steering wheel and door leather inserts. just regular leather cleaner?

Intake and exhaust really. You can do the headers too if you want. There's really not much you can do to make the car faster, its not really a car that can be tuned and bolt ons only do so much. If you want more power, getting a 350 is basically the best option.
As far as cleaning the steering wheel and leather inserts - for the inserts i just use the same leather cleaner & conditioner i use on the leather seats (Lexol). For the steering wheel, i just use the cleaner portion or Meguairs Quik Interior Detailer.

I personally swear by zaino products. the leather conditioner and cleaner are my personal fav's. The cleaner I could probably swap with another brand and wouldn't put up a fuss, but I live by the conditioner. I clean and condition my entire interior every three months (and do a full cleaning with the cleaner after any and all servicing as they usually make the interior dirty) at least, but I also have ecru which gets dirty/stains very very very easily.
It's funny, they put those damn paper things down on your carpet mats (who cares, they're mats, and mine personally are black...) but not on your light color interior where it matters... haha. Though when I owned a G35 a while ago, I remember infiniti dealerships used to actually put a plastic bag over my seats...

Your options for more power:
Intake- +5 hp for $125-$400
Exhaust- the legal ones are $600-1500 and add 7 hp. The illegal ones are $1200-1500 and add 10 hp.
Headers- PPE are the only ones worth mentioning. 10-15 hp for about $1000 installed and illegal in all 50 US states.
So 2-3 grand for 17-30 more hp. Or for about 4k you could add 102 hp by getting an IS350 instead of a 250.

I got a bunch of product for leather cleaning/conditioning, as well as detail soap/wax/polish from my local car detail shop. go talk to them and they might sell you nice products that places like autozone cant touch with their cleaners.

Ok thanks. I just am trying to figure out what intake i would want................suggestions are welcome. And @Downtuned, i went with the quality ones. I got the 8000k DDM tuning HIDs. I got the headlights and the fogs. It just looks cleaner to do both. And yeah, my brother helped me install them. The top headlights are cake, its the fogs that are a real ***** to deal with.

I'd like to throw out there that supercharging is an option...
If you just bought the car, disregard the following, because, yes trading in for a 350 should be done first.
If you have a considerable amount of modding/cant leave the is250 for some reason, continue on...
Supercharging is expensive (Looking at ~4k minimum if buying used, installed), but youll get decent gains ~50whp. I dont like that this is ruled out and bashed so much on the forum. People knock it for being overly costly, but if you look at the big picture for these cars, its not too out of hand... full (authentic) body kit ~$3000+paint, authentic wheels ~$2500-4500+, hell even our tires average around $1000 for 19".
I have an LMS Supercharger kit i just picked up used on the forum, the blower needed rebuilding, but once it comes back I will post before and after dyno's as well as my experiences running it. I have an is250 that is heavily modded. Just to get everything uninstalled and swapped to an is350 would have run me well over $2000, and the headers would not even have been applicable to the new is350. I'm not doing it to be the fastest car on the road, because there is always someone faster, but to be different and gain some power.
