I got screwed on my HWY mpg on the way back from SoCal. Averaged just 25mpg ALL HWY going about 70-80mph, but that was driving with a extremely bad alignment (car couldn't even stay in its own lane above 75mph), all 4 tire pressure below average, & my front lower airdam was hanging down half way which caused a crazy amount of drag before I found out 300 miles later... actually its kinda impressive considering all those factors, & about 2 pulls to 130mph

I can get well north of 400 to a tank (closer to 450) if it's all highway and I run it to 0 miles left on my IS350... mostly city driving it's more in the 330-350 range.
The 250 does better, but only about 10% better on average, for a 50% hp drop.
Now, if you care not a bit about power, the 250 still gets you from A to B and offers everything else the 350 does.... but the mileage difference really is pretty small compared to the power difference.

In real life it doesn't appear to.

~2 mpg worse for the 350 versus AWD 250 officially... ~2 mpg better for the 350 from real life owner estimates.

I might be in the minority, but I've never topped 21 mpg no matter how conservatively I drive. I typically average around 19 mpg. Most of my driving however is during heavy traffic with several hills along the route, so this isn't surprising. I've noticed that the hills kill my mileage faster than anything else. On the other hand, I didn't buy this car with the expectation of great gas mileage. That's what our other car is for: an AWD Mazda CX-5, which averages 30 mpg in mixed driving.

I have an AWD IS250 and my overall average is 26.7 mpg: city, highway, and traffic. Filled up after the meet in Sacramento this weekend and drove all the way back with a tank average of 33.3 mpg, and that was at semi-conservative speeds.
I realize that I get better mpg if I'm on normal mode as opposed to Power, since it's easier to control how much to gas it in normal.

My ISF got 17.3 mpg daily commute locally . Keep in mind that weight saving is a big plus, removal tools, spare tire, excess stuffs u dont need in the trunk and dont pump gas to the Full Tank. I always pump my only a bit over half over the tank to save some weight , 1 gallon of gasoline= 5 lbs Just saying

Living in Brooklyn, NY my MPG is terrible. I used to get 18mpg when I commuted into the city to work with the car but now that I only drive around Brooklyn on the weekend its down to like 12mpg. I have a heavier foot than most but its not like I floor it every chance I get.

I know it's a different car and a different price bracket with a different power train, but I can do 26-27 mpg in my IS F if I baby it. It'll do 27-28 at 70mph cruise control and 29-30mpg at 65mph cruise control. I was searching the forum for Lexus mpg comparisons and was surprised to see my car can be as efficient as the is350. I can't help but wonder if any isx50 owners skipped on the F as an option not knowing this. But I have to be honest, the thing is a complete pig when you're on the throttle.
