To service or not to service
Okay ladies and gents here's the story:
I have an 08 350 CPO. I am about to hit 30k. Now, I've been keeping to the regular maintenance schedule and I'm a devout member of the "cult of 'stealership.'" It's just recently that I've developed the passion for DIY. A big 'no-no,' you see.
So I'm fighting this urge to do it myself but I thought I'd let my ish out to get a feel for what I should do.
Do I get the regular maintenance until my CPO runs out (at 42k) or do I just handle it myself and start learning.
The reason I say this is I plan on owning this car until she dies, or absolve my student loans, whichever comes first.
Questions, comments, concerns?

The only things you need to do at 30k are:
Change the air/cabin filters- do these yourself, takes 5 minutes versus paying dealer $110 for 1 hr labor.
Oil change- Do yourself if you're comfortable doing it, though my dealer only gets $50 so might be worth the "good will" of doing work there while under warranty. for the $20-30 you'd save vs DIY, on the other hand if you don't know how no time like the present to learn.
Brake fluid change- This is around $120 at the dealer- again if you're comfortable doing this yourself there's no reason not to, but some folks aren't as up on how to do this compared to say changing oil and there's a bit more to it.
That's all the car needs at 30k though.

Many of the things are 'check this, check that, tighten this, tighten that'. For the most part the dealer is just giving a once over eyball glance at these things. I don't really do anything other than change fluids and filters as shown in the manual, these cars go a long way without much maintenance. Folks that go in and ask for a 30k mile service are just asking to have their pockets picked....be smart and either DIY or only have the dealer do specific things like change the brake fluid. When I see things like check nuts and bolts on the flux capacitor I ignore them.
