Exclamation Help please! [Moonroof open + Rain]

I left my sunroof accidently open during these weeknds storms, i vacummed, shampoo, and towel dried the carpet but the car still smells funny, I want to remove the seats and carpet to get any standing water out of the car, but need help on this. Does anyone have any steps on how to remove the front seats? From the searches it seems like disconnect the battery and 4 bolts on the seat? what about wires?

and anyone have any recomendations on what cleaners to use to get the smell out?.

Don't know about the seats but sounds like a good idea to romove them. Remember that you have to dry out the carpet and the padding. Not sure that you could do that without taking out the carpet and drying both sides. This would also let you dry the floor under the carpets, too.

I second the dehumidifier, those things would dry out a pool if you let them run long enough! But, with that said, if you decide to remove your seats, MAKE SURE you replace the bolts torqued to the factory safety settings, I can not stress that enough.

My wife's water broke while we were driving and it left an interesting smell on my passenger seat for a day or two. I just febreze'd it and left the seat warmer running for those two days. It worked for me.

you can do a couple of things, use a wet dry vac to get out as much water as possible. Also if its a nice and sunny day out lower your windows and open your sunroof and let the car catch some sun. Last but the most important is go to Home depot and buy some Damprid. You can find it in the paint department and place a bag or two in your car.

How come us Honda guys know about this magic substance? LOL!

Yeah, find yourself some Damprid; you can get it anywhere just about...including WalMart. Get two of the slim ones to slide under your seats and get a couple of the buckets to place in the floor boards up front when the car is not in operation.

GL!
