If the other warranty you bought allows for you to take your car wherever you want for repairs, then all you have to do is give the dealership your warranty information. They'll just put it into the computer and use it to make a claim should you need to in the future.

We did this with my fiancés Nissan Altima. We bought it used from a Lexus dealership actually with an extended (non-Nissan) warranty. When we took it to Nissan they just input the warranty info in their computer and we were good to go. If anything needs to be claimed under the warranty, the dealer said they'd have no issues sending a claim under the other warranty.

$5500?!?!

You should have found our foums sooner! A few members can refer you to some Lexus/Toyota dealers who will offer you the same warranty for less than half of what you paid.

Thats still a huge rip off!

The Platinum warranty that would add 8 years/ 125k miles to your warranty would cost a bit less than $2000.....

I hope your warranty paperwork is made out of gold

I dont have an exact link, but search the forums for a thread about warranties that mentions Jerry Jones. I was able to get the cheapest warranty quote from him. I think he works at a Lexus dealship in Kansas.

Do it quickly, there's usually a limited amount of time where you cancel the warranty without penalty.

Cancel the warranty and if your car is still under the 4yr/50k warranty you can still get a Lexus extended warranty. This post should be helpful:

Call this guy, he has done right by MANY Club Lexus members.

Call Jerry (below) he took care of me and many others on the forum. He sells Lexus Platinum zero deductible warranties for a fixed % above dealer cost.

Sooner the better to let them know. Tell them there charging you 3x the amount of Lexus warranty. All you really need is up till 100k unless you drive alot in a year. Cause the warranty goes by years or mileage which ever comes first. I wouldn't walk away until the cash is refunded or subtracted out of the total cost if you financed it.
