Default LED DRL or Halogen?

Hi all, I currently have an 06 IS250 with blue LED DRLs that were installed by the previous owner. However, I'm not too pleased with them. They're not as bright as I would like and because it's LED theres no high beam functionality.

I'm debating about switching to brighter white LEDs or going back to halogen so I can use my high beams. I know everyone has different personal preference, but I would like to hear what your opinions are.

If for a brighter white LED, what would you recommend? If halogen, which bulbs are popular/reliable?

Thanks!

Do you have the factory bi-xenons that adjust with your steering? If so, I would stick with the LED DRL because if put ur high beems on they will still point upwards. If you don't, then maybe a switch back to halogens is better for you.

For brighter led... Go with the VLEDS kit in 5000K if you want it more white then blue.

I would suggest going with white DRL. I never use my high beams, plus I have HIDs so I have almost no use for them anyways.

I unfortunately don't have factory bi-xenon's so I'm in need of an HID kit.

Any recommendations? Xenondepot? Xenonsupply? ijdmtoy? ddm

x2

Had a bulb go out and they're sending me a free new replacement under the 3-year warranty and excellent HID kit quality

Sounds good. I'll go with Xenondepot.

As for LED DRLs, what do you guys have/recommend? I know ijdmtoy has like 68-SMD, 96-SMD and 120-SMD Xenon whites

I got mine from a friend of a friend who makes his own LEDS. VLED and iJDMTOY both sell a similar kit.

The 68-SMD LED bulb we carry does the job quite well, but if you want something that is slightly brighter (still not bright enough to be functional as high beams, but definitely still brighter), you can go with the bulbs with more LED chips. I personally run the 120-SMD LED bulbs and they're great.

Switching 2 LED, do you lose HB functionality completely ie if you have your lows on and switch HB's on, will no light come on at all?

Only your fog lights will be on (if you have them on at the same time when you turn on your high beams)

Thanks, that no workie for me. My preferred commute route is a nice little back road; lots of twists and ups/downs, but also alot of the 4-legged friends that can smash up my car.
This sucks, I really dislike that ugly yellow of the halogens but cannot lose HB's.
