After further exam, i see that the pin inside is a bit different. it like this [ I I I I ] and for the our normal usb.. it is like [ I I I I ]. After i talked with their rep, they said lexus have it own cable in the back. I google 2010+ IS350 and indeed they have a factory USB connection in the arm rest ... so, did lexus have their own connector behide the 2010+ unit???
Where did you order one that works with IS350? It works except the USB? What does the USB plug looks like?

Can someone please confirm if it's possible to use an aftermarket navi head unit to replace a defective OEM navi unit?

I just installed the Chinese unit in my 2011. That black wire that comes out of the back of the unit is supposed to the factory isb harness. I think only MY2010+ has this option. Previous years may have to do it the ghetto way like you did. The connection is made by the shifter, under the center console.

Every thing is working great, but radio stations. Just like others here, the numbers are way off. For about $750 savings compared to FA, I say it's a good trade off.

I see you installed this unit. What did you do with your stock nav unit?

yes it is possible to do it because i did. nothing was wrong with my oem navi, i just wanted the flyaudio unit because of the dvd and usb features. although it is possible it will require some modding of 1 harness and adding an rca connector to the factory wiring to get the rear camera to work without running wires or replacing the factory cam. you probably will not find anyone on here other than me and one other person who has done the swap successfully, when i did mine i found some diagrams on here regarding the "adding navi to non navi vehicles" thread and its pretty much just reversing this process and buying a connector and retrofitting 1 harness. also there is a thread that i posted that shows what i did with pics. . i contacted the other member who had done this mod with never a response from him, and i had to figure it out by myself. so now im giving back so others with oem nav have an option if thier oem nav unit goes bad. if your not familiar with car audio and wiring, dont atempt this mod as you may cause some damage, always have a fellow CL member /buddy help you if he is experienced or take it to a car audio specialist.

edit: here is the thread and files

Yeah i kinda figure that, however for a 520 vs 1300... i think it worth every penny.

here's a link:

I still haven't figured out how to really replace the vents though if you have an '08 or older IS250. The clips are different. Sounds like you have to jerry-rig it or something.

If anyone can provide details on how to actually replace the '06-'08 center vent with the newer style, I would appreciate it very much. I'm sitting on this unit because I haven't figure out exactly how to change those vents without having to modify something.
