What causes lack of performance?

Well there is definitely something wrong with your car man. i raced my friends 335xi and we were dead even till 120. i think you should have your engine checked up and make sure all the recalls are done cause if you missed any of the recalls that could have caused it. do no waste time practicing how to launch your car cause i dont think thats the problem. you should be able to lunch in 3rd gear and still smoke that matrix

How many miles? Depending on the answer to that question have you thought about a tune up? Spark plugs etc? How about your air filter? Have you inspected it? I have seen air filters come apart and cause a blockage of air flow? Fuel filter? There are several things you still have to check here in my opinion.

There could be a variety of things including but not limited to, dirty air filter, old spark plugs, something major wrong, have a 250 w/ 350 badges, bad/wring octane gas, clogged/dirty injectors, ext. I would do the ECU reset as already mentioned, run the VIN to make sure its a 350, check the air filter.

did you have this issue before you got into that big accident?
Maybe something is still messed up. As I recall, you were going to fix everything yourself. Maybe it's worth taking it to a shop for a diagnostic...

Ooo you gon learn today....
I will save you the "do the search" lecture but to save you some time I will summarize what everyone will eventually say.
Turn off your driving assists. Leave in drive. Turn off power ect. Quarter of a tank (if you can help it). Nobody riding shotgun.
You loose to a matrix again, debadge and apply 250.
LoL hope this helps, happy "racing."

LoL, Something is wrong here,
Problems can be 1. Intake sucking hot air. 2. Spark plugs (tune up) 3. Bad gas. 4. How much you weight? =)) (just kidding). 5 maybe too much tire spin?

Dang, I feel for you bro. My 350 has taken down a Challenger SRT-8 from a roll (granted, he had people in the car, and my conditions were ideal....but still), and a Hemi Charger the other day, when he didn't want to let me get over (big mistake, as it must've been embarrassing with his girl in the car)....just to name a couple, even though I don't approve of reckless driving (only in wide open road with nobody around!).
Something definitely sounds off here. No way in hell that a Matrix takes down our cars. Road&Track clocked a 2007 IS Sport Pkg at 0-60 in 4.9 and a 13.5 @ 103.1 quarter-mile. Lets see the Matrix put up those #'s!!! Good luck with finding out what's going on with your 350.
