Default What a day... In one 17 mile commute my car now needs repainted

Driving to work this morning I was greeted with an unwelcome surprise: road construction

Only going 60mph in traffic I still wasnt able to see what lie ahead....Unpaved road, which meant BUMP

This "bump" was the size of a curb first sending my front bumper smashing into the ground then brutally crashing my wheels into my fenders. It was one of those sounds and feels you just know is bad!

My rear fenders are shaved and pulled to fit Volk TE37s 19x10.5 +22. The tires clear just fine! However, I had so much suspension travel that the RIM lips hit the fenders mangling the fit and finish of the metal and paint. I'm so pissed...my rear fenders look like lumpy mashed potatoes with a side of paint chips!

Dumb question - can I claim this on my insurance for repair? I dont know if I can wait until winter (dont drive my car in winter) to get this repaired, its awful !

Driver side not nearly as bad but def. deformed...look at the uneven crease!

That sucks!! Make sure to check to see if your rims aren't bent after a shot like that.

Damn sorry to see that. Insurance should cover the damage to your car though if it was caused by crappy roads. You'll have to give them a call and check to find out 100% for sure. I've seen people get BAD damage from crappy roads and insurance took care of it. I believe its covered under collision coverage and not comprehensive, but it should be a not-at-fault accident. You will have to pay your deductible of course, and then there is the fact that your car is on aftermarket wheels with lowered suspension. Some insurance companies may try and deny your claim because of damage from aftermarket parts.

That sucks but that the risk you take when you run the Hella Flush/Stretched tire look.

Good luck with the insurance company.

Wow that sucks. In some states you can go after the state if they fail to put a bump sign out during major construction like that as it is their liability. I would look into it so you don't have to use your insurance.

Those State/City claims take forever to process and investigate. You may want to ask your insurance company to do it for you.

I've been dealing with the same crap on my HWYs here recently. On some parts they'll put up "Bump" signs, but on other's they won't. Due to them repaving one section and the huge decline from the new pavement onto the old now causes all four of my tires to rub the liners at speed.

Sorry for your misfortune bro. This is why they say "You've got to pay to play."
