Has anyone else had problems installing HID bulbs
It figures that an easy mod such as a HID install would give me such trouble! First off, I am pretty mechanically inclined.. Ive done frame off restorations on 2 classic cars, worked on boats, cars of all types, etc. I ordered the HID kit from xenondepot, got it all installed in about an hour, turned on the headlights and the drivers side didn't work. I pulled the bulb and noticed the return wire insulator was cracked. It must have happened while installing on the drivers side - what a PITA! My hands are all cut up from trying to wedge them in there. I pulled the passenger side and noticed a small crack as well.
I am VERY careful when handling these bulbs - not touching them, etc. Apparently, not careful enough. Am I the only one having trouble with not being delicate enough with them? Xenondepot recommends removing the inner fender... Im not sure how that would help.

The passager side was a breeze. The driver side though was pretty hard to get in there. Not much room to work with. I think installing the l.e.d. parking lights was harder than the h.i.d. install

if the ceramic insulation stick is cracked, it shouldnt affect the bulb. as long as the actual wire is not broken. Make sure XenonDepot didnt send you D2 series bulbs. Back in 06 when i had my IS sedan.. i had the same problem with their bulbs.. they are pretty good at sending you replacements.
