Dented my trunk lid!! :(
I was in a hurry to an interview last week and backed up to the plastic trash bins. I did not think too much of it when I hit it because I thought the plastics were soft but apparently the top edge of the bins are hard as a rock. This actually caused a dent in 2 separate areas. On the trunk lid and the corner panel.
How much will this cost me to repair? Any recommendation for a place in the Bay Area? I live in the Peninsula.

That sucks man. Your lookin at a new decklid probably. They might be able to fix it but its kind of a big dent in a small area on the trunk. With the metal stretched so much there, it might not look the same once fixed. Probably lookin at $1500 with a new trunk and fixing the quarter.

I would first take it to a PDR (paintless dent repair) A good PDR can pull that out without paint work and in less then an hours time. PDR 200
Worst case if you have to paint it, Just have them pull the dent and repaint just the trunk. The quarter panel ding have a PDR guy pull that. Cost to fix trunk 150-400

It was a good thing you didn't break your taillights.
Try paintless dent removal first if you want to keep it stock looking but if you have plans of modifying your car in the future then a molded Wald spoiler with raised quarter panels would be a good start

The trunk lid is repairable:
5 hours for the trunk, 2.5 hours for the right quarter, paint, and all necessary de-trimming will be about $800.
If you would rather replace the trunk lid:
$350 for new trunk lid, 2.5 hours for the right quarter, paint, and all necessary de-trimming will be about $1,100.
Bottomline: If you were paying out-of-pocket repair the trunk lid or through insurance replace it.
