Default Need Some Advice

Okay i know that no one here is an attorney or knows all the legal rights of work done by lexus.

My vehicle was serviced by Meade Lexus of SouthField by first owner for as long as he had it roughly up to 76k (how do i know, because lexus.com shows everything). Then a second owner had it (an acquaintance of mine) 76-88k. I got the car with 88xxx miles on it, i took it to englewood lexus to have warranty work on it to fix a coolant leak, adjust headlights and i took it to my friend to get new tires and a saw a small tiny engine leak from the timing chain case gasket plus the sealent looked very clean!. Thinking Englewood lexus f'ed up when doing my coolant fix, turns out at 67K Meade Lexus did a big job on my car, that required the removal of my timing case to get to change my head gaskets. My warranty company said we are not covering this because it was touched and already changed so it voids that warranty on that part.

Meade Lexus performed this on 4/17/09 at 67491 (who are questioning why now because i wanted to see maybe it started after lexus did an engine flush on my car and might stop very tiny leak. This weekend while the car was on the lift, the oil pan is all wet not severe or anything but wet. I lost 1qt after driving 4500 miles.), i took my lexus on 4/11/12 90532 to englewood lexus to get this checked out. But if a gasket is replaced, to not last 20k/3 years i think is pretty ridiculous? This job got quoted at 3k, because the motor has to be pulled. I currently requested all records from Meade Lexus to be faxed over to me. Do you think i have a shot with Lexus HQ?

Try contacting Lexus Corporate. The worst they can say is no.

I agree with this as well. Presenting your issue in a professional, calm manner will go a long way.

As others said, its worth a try, youll only lose some time over the phone and some hot air to yell a bit

But as to your question of the gaskets not lasting 20k miles/3 years... On my old 4runner, i had the head gaskets replaced in the spring of 2006 and they were again leaking in 2008 after probably 12k miles (never drove it clearly), although the 4runners of the early 90's were known for that issues.

I called HQ, i started a case. Waiting on a call back within 2 days, they will probably want me to go back to a dealer to get the leak reasserted. I told them im okay with it but i do not want to pay the diagnostic fee of 120-140.

If they do not call you back, call them to follow up. They were terrible at getting back to me when I opened up a case with them. 2-3 days turned into 2-3 weeks.
