^^^^Tell us how it is different. My Fs housing and the ES look identical, have the same threads and use the same filter wrench. The only difference is the Fs housing is longer with no drain and the ES has the drain on the end due to the vertical mounting. What's different about the IS350?

Here's a DIY for an IS250 AWD that I found. Filter' housing is exactly the same as I described.

the housing of my 350 is definitely not like that. only one piece, no drain plug

^^^^Ok then it's like mine, the one on my F. Is the IS350 filter housing mounted vertically? If it is, that would explain it. If there is no Filter Housing drain, than the O Ring and the plastic drain piece would be discarded if they are included with the Oil Filter.

it needs a square stud socket to turn the metal cap loose then insert the plastic drain tube and turn the tube to drain the oil inside oil filter case. This design is to avoid any hot oil spill on your hands/arms during oil change. It just makes the oil change cleaner. As far as if you need to replace the small O ring, I would still change it since it's made of rubber.
