You probably lost traction or hit a bit of damp pavement, or were going too fast and the electronics took over. I do not think there is any endemic problem in IS steering. In production since 2006 there must be 350,000 to 450,000 of these on the road worldwide. You'd hear if cars were loosing steering control and crashing, the media would be sure of it.

Thats exactly what I thought. The control takes over and gets loose sometime by itself. Its like you have no control over the car. I hope its tires problem.

Perhaps some oil on the ramp. As far as tires I recommend Bridgestone 760s

Holy crap. Sounds dangerous. I'm pretty sure Lexus needs to do something about this before this gets out of hand. Can't be a coincidence that so many ISx50 are having the same issues

Maybe there was a slick oil spot on the road which left your steering useless.

I quickly steered the other way and then back right and I was fine. It felt like a messed up version of an understeer. I'm waiting another hour for the Lexus dealership to give them a call and see if there should be any follow up. The road did not have any big bumps or noticeable ones, it is a tight turn on a ramp and I was coming downhill. The road might be slightly slippery due to fog and I'm running the stock summer tires.
I dont think his situation is much different than yours actually and this is starting to become a little unsettling.

His car also went into the turn fine and it was halfway through bend that the steering gave up response. I recently purchased an fsport and I will attentively keep a feel for this.
