Which IS250 is the best?
Hello everyone, I've recently been wanting to buy a IS250, a used one of course since its going to be my first car. My buddy told me that each year of the IS has a different issue with the car, so Im not sure. Can I get Some opinions on which year of the IS is better? From 2008 to 2011. Much appreciated!

I need the AWD because I live in new York. So that's why I'm looking for a 250. I'm looking at a 2011 250 but am thinking about waiting until the 2013 one comes out so the price will drop on the 2011. I just wanted to know if there were issues with different years of the car

And you don't really "need" AWD in NY unless it's upstate with serious hills/mountains.
Folks got around fine with RWD for most of the last century after all with simply good snow tires, and folks are getting around today with RWD 350s (and IS-Fs) in places that get plenty of snow (Chicago, Minnesota, much of Canada, etc)
Snow tires>AWD for everything except climbing very steep hills.

If you are in NYC, IS250 RWD can save you money on gas for stop and go traffic, you will be spend a little more gas on IS250 AWD but you will get tracktion. If you want power, go with IS350, or ISF.
For snow days, I prefer AWD,(don't want to get stuck on street parking) unless you are going to get a set of snow tires and to change them just for 3-4 days of snow days, and the RWD models don't have LSD.

As stated before, you should test drive the IS250 and IS350 to see which you would like better. If you are dead set on getting an AWD, if you got the money I would recommend getting the 2012 Lexus IS350 AWD.
