Wow so my TPMS with 3 piece wheels as turned my car into a disaster
Ok guys heres some cliffs as i dont want this to be long
-goes to shop to have tpms installed on my SSR 3 piece wheels
-guy suggests mounting them with brackets so i let him do his thing
-i pay him $80 for his brackets/custom work and he says he double mounted it
-first day my front tire had an air leak so i bought a new tire (This was saturday) TPMS also shattered into pieces cause I didn't pull over soon enough
-It is now monday and coming home after a 12 hour shift i get another flat tire but this is on my driver's side tire. I pulled over to gas station and i try to pump gas. I try to take my valve stem out and the whole AIR VALVE comes out so I had no way to put air on my tires. Bracket seems like it got scattered in the wheel cause I heard clunking noises when i was spinning the wheel with the flat tire.
Im already over 50 miles on my spare tire so I cant even drive my car to work and I Have busy days at work this whole week.
My plan is to take my car to a different tire shop and have the remaining TPMS pulled off my wheels so this won't ever happen again. I blame that stupid shop for that stupid idea of custom mounting it. I never had this problem ever and all i wanted was that TIRE LIGHT to disappear from my dash. My original plan was to have the TPMS strapped onto the wheel. Now I might just do the pipe bomb mod to avoid future disasters like this one.

Would you guys recommend that adapter from d2autosport? I don't ever want this to happen to me again that's why im being cautious and plan on doing the pipe bomb mod so nothing will interfere with my tires/wheels. Apparently this one affected my tires and wheels. They were custom brackets that were double mounted onto my wheels.

i keep wondering why people who have little to no experience - first hand or other - with multi-piece SSR wheels keep recommending TPMS brackets that won't work.
the inherent issue is with the wheel design itself, more specifically the valve hole/valve stem a specific size (see: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/6927399-post3.html) such that there aren't any TPMS mounting solutions inside the wheel aside from using a TPMS strap kit.
another post - this time from L-Tunedparts.com - in 2007 to (again) prove that multi-piece SSR wheels are not TPMS compatible: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/2636905-post1.html
again, either use a TPMS strap kit, or build a TPMS pipe bomb. as much as i enjoy repeating myself, you really should've caught on by now.
but before then, PULL THE TPMS and the mickey-mouse brackets OUT of your wheels before you do any more damage.
