Default Help!! Engine Swap possible? 350 engine into 250.

Hey guys, ive was suprised to find the lack of interest scanning google on people putting a 350 engine in a 250. I might be totally missing something (engine wont fit) but i thought they matched up about evenly for engine space/size. Honestly any help recommendation on how it works or would work, would be great, just want to do a straight up swap Auto/Auto.

-Thanks, Mike!

Do you already have the engine?

If you haven't done it yet, don't do it. It's ALOT cheaper with buying an IS350 over an IS250.

Seeing that you are in CA (California) I assume.... there's no point in doing this besides burning your money. Unless you can get the IS350 engine/ECU/ and other parts for dirt cheap, it's just not worth it.

Some international regions don't have IS350, so it would make sense to do engine swaps for more power.

IS350 Engine should fit without any issue, it's the same body and people managed to dump a bigger (IS-F) engine into IS250.

Don't do the 350 swap. Spend your money in a 2jz-gte swap

Appreciate it, im not engine savy ,and kind of assumed to swapping engines would be cheaper then trading in for a 350. Buy looking online at IS350 engines they run for about 3g's?? Is there still alot of addiontal parts i would have to change? My car is fully push to start-nav and all that . Thanks, im a total noob on the inside parts hehe.

Should be no problem to physically fit... but unless your 250 engine is dead it'd be cheaper to sell the 250 and buy a 350.

The engine and transmission... and rear end... are all different... so you'd need to buy and swap all 3 for everything to work right (and buying all the relevant ECUs and electronics to swap)

You'll also want to start with a 2009 or newer 250, since a 350 ECU is going to be expecting VDIM on the car, which 06-08 250s didn't have.

then keep it! really? like do you need that little bit of more acceleration to be happy with your car?? especially if going to take a loss... the 250 is just fine man. maybe mod it a little for some more performance to make yourself "feel" faster.

^lol my point exactly. its like saying you want to make your 325i as fast as an M3 or your V6 mustang to outperform a Cobra.... easier to just start with the car you want

You can make your car handle better. Straight speed isn't everything.

If you can get good deal from junks for 350 engine, transmission, rear axel assembly complete, engine ECU, stering ECU, Transmission ECU and good mechanic. wiring is plug&play, mechanic parts are direct fit. i think it will cost around 6k-7k or 8K to do all including labor, but if you have mechanical skills you can do it yourself and save a lot of money .
good luck
