Somehow I think that even if we could adjust the revs up to over 7k, the factory probably set the rev limiter to right were the motor stops making more WHP on an engine dyno graph. I did this "study" on a Honda of mine; makes perfect sense to me.
True for most cars but i dont beleive its the case for the IS350.
If you look at a dyno for the IS350's, youll notice that the curve on the graph keeps increasing and does not drop in whp, so if it follows the trend, it will make more overall power for sure. If you looked at a dyno of an IS350 youd understand...
Also, the IS350 makes 306HP @6,400rpm.... and 6,400 rpm is right about where our cars shift at... so it would probably have even MORE peak Horsepower if increased... I could be wrong on this statement though.
Basically at the redline of a stock IS350, the horsepower is not even close to tapering down like other cars.... it has potential to keep going up and up.. and maybe taper down past 7k...
I dont think lexus is gonna bump the redline. the 2013 gs350, which is suppose to be more sporty, still have a 6500rpm redline. They just might beef up the engine when the is comes out. Like the 06>07 GS
