Default 2012 headlight conversion

This maybe a silly question but I'm looking to upgrade my 2009 headlight and take advantage of the promo sewells got going on n get the 2012 headlight. I currently have factory hids in my car. My question is, Is there a DIY on putting my factory ballist in the stripped version of the 2012. And if not how hard is it to install into the stripped headlight. I just dont want to purchase the stripped headlights and regret not purchasing the loaded one. What I'm kinda asking at the same time is if it's worth the extra 500 n get the loaded version. I'm trying to make this purchase before the promo is over. Thanks guys

There isnt a complete DIY from A-Z but there enough info on this forum to help you out. I end up purchasing a new set of ballast right before JOE Z posted a video how to remove oem ballast.

I was one of the biggest ANTI retro guys originally but let me just say its SO worth it. Screw AFS I never really saw anything noticable but now everytime I see my sweet led lights I cant help but smile. Thanks to Vroomin for hooking me up!
