Blown out OEM ballast? Please help...
Hi,
I recently noticed that one of my headlights was burnt out. I have 6k 35W HID replacements. I tried to change the bulb with both of my working OEM bulbs. No luck. Did I burn out my ballast? What could be another reason why one of my headlight isnt working? How can I fix it? I would appreciate anyone experience or input.
Thanks
V

So you have a 6000k 35w H11 HID Kit. But you tried to connect your OEM H11 halogen bulb to your ballast? Am i reading this correctly? halogen bulbs cannot be connected to a HID ballast.
Best way to test it. You have one side working and one side not working. Take the HID bulb ONLY from the working side and swap it with the NON working side bulb.
IF the original working bulb turns ON.. then you have a faulty bulb.
IF the original working bulb DOESNT turn ON.. then you have a faulty ballast.
to confirm the faulty ballast. Take the bulb originally from the NON working side and put it on the working side ballast. NON working side bulb SHOULD light up.

Vibes63: Do you have OEM HID headlights and you swapped the stock bulbs out to D4S 6000k bulbs or did you install an aftermarket HID kit?

Yes this is something I forgot to ask, I was under the assumption that he had OEM HID since he said he tried installing his OEM bulbs back on. Doubt an H11 would fit a d4S housing.

i had moisture in my headlight housing for about 4-5 days and now the bulb turns on itermittently. as in the bulb will turn on once i start the car or something over the span of every 6 days.
could the moisture have damaged the ballast? if i get a Xenon depot replacement HID kid with ballast, will this ballast take the place of the damaged one in the housing?

ok i had OEM HID headlights. I just checked, and swapped the bulbs. one side worked and the other side didnt. i'm still convinced its a moisture problem and that perhaps if i let it dry out and tighten the seal around the headlight it'll all go away.
is this realistic or am i living in a fantasy land? i just dont want to have to mess with a whole new ballast and taking it out of the headlight and everything
