IS250 Carbon Build up CSP
#301
BTW for those wondering what may happen if you get the carbon build up issue again after the pistons....If they can verify it, it looks like they may replace the block. At least that's what I am being told in my situation. But I don't think they are going to be able to pull a code. We'll see next time I take it in for an oil change, because I still do get the shakes even after the new pistons. Not sure that replacing the block is really the solution at all tho.

Have many folks still NOT gotten any letters? I have not heard a thing but the local dealer keeps sending me service specials. Wonder if there is any impact of letters not expedited to those of us not taking the car there for service. They did a top engine cleaning on over 2 years ago at under 20K miles. Now have 35K and don't get major "about to stall" shaking" but definite vibration noticeable at idle unless the lights or A/C is running after warm up and in gear. (That never went away after engine cleaning).

I'm sure some people who recently bought their 250 though will probably not get the letter since it may be going to the previous owner. Depends on when they pulled all these addresses really. And if they check for recent registration changes and such too I guess....

Do we have any idea of how they are sending out the letters? I have been at the same address as the car is registered to since I bought my '08 in 11/07. Just wondering why I never received one? If I wasn't reading this site I would not know about the free repair and could spend a chunk of $$$$ to get it done by an independent.

Lexus finally admits the "Intermittenly Runs Rough" recall.
Well, looks like after all the people that complained about the
rough idiling and hard stalls, engine misfires (intermittenly runs rough)
in there 2006-2010 IS250's.
The notice is finally here to get it fixed.
Other Thread.

You do realize this isnt a recall right? Its Lexus stepping up and supporting its clients even when they are out of warranty and they have zero responsibility to do so. Id be praising Lexus. And its not like they are suddenly admitting to anything.. there has been TSIBs out for a long time in relation to this condition. Be glad you dont have another manufacturer's direct injection car... you'd be getting no support.
