Default For all those who debadged/replaced for black chrome emblems

Hey guys I need a little help

1. want to remove my "is250" to replace for black pearl one.
Any tips on this?
What did you use?
I did this once on a mercedes of mine but it left the residue stain and never came off.

2. For the "L" on the trunk its a little different because it sits inside of an indentation, can anyone guide me in the right direction for the best way to remove without damagin the paint?

Sorry for the noob question

I used goo gone and fishing line. The fishing line got under the emblem allowing me to peel it up and off.

For the glue residue, apply goo gone and use a rag to wipe it off. It'll take a while depending on how much glue is came up on the emblem and what remains on the car.

Goo gone will not damage your paint. You can get it at walmart

You also used fishing line on the "L"?

Yep what aspeckt said. For the L though I taped up the end of a skinny flat head to pry it off

U could always plastidip + gloss over it then no removal of the emblems would be required. But I'm sure u prob prefer real black emblems

Heat gun to "soften up the tape", old credit card to pry the emblem off, then goo-gone to get off the remaining residue.

i removed my emblems with a plastic dash bezel removal tool, then made some circles out of black vinyl on my plotting machine to cover the tiny holes left behind, you really cant see the vinyl circles unless you are up next to them and looking for it.

Thanks guys nice to see we have many options. I am not worried about the holes behind 250 because I am replacing the emblem.

I am more worried about the L and how you guys went about it.

With the L I used floss and just slowly pried it off. Wasn't hard at all and didn't damage any of the paint! I did the same for the rest of the emblems. I then scuffed all the emblems up a little bit and spray painted them black. Turned out great!

Dental floss and goo gone worked for me. Just try to leave your car out in the sun the day before so its easier to remove. You can also use a heat gun but its not necessary

Floss and a hair dryer. Then some alcohol wipes to get the excess off. That's how I did my trunk L.

The dealership has a special product to get it off with no damage. They did the rest of my trunk for free. I just drove up there and asked, took five minutes. Way better than the 30 I spent on the trunk L.
