Default Just joined the Lexus Family

I recently purchased a 07 is250 and I love the car. It very smooth from my perspective. The only problem I have is when I drive at night one head light will go out , so I would have to turn off the headlight and turn it back on as I driving. Sometimes both head lights will go out and I would repeat my self. Any advice on this? I'm thinking it is the balast that is bad.

I'm also planning on getting a 8k hid kit and I don't know what brand and where to get them legit

Please respond , thank you

07 I'm sure your prob out of warranty...it could be the bulb or ballast...but still have the dealer look at it if they will for free...Welcome to the club...

RyanGS is correct. It could be a problem with the ballast or a simple bulb. Same thing happened to me and it was a bulb problem.

same thing happened to my 07 a few months ago, needed a new bulb. Try that first and then look into the ballast. Order the OEM one and worst case youll have an extra set.

Buy a set of Garax bulbs from the few people that are selling them used. They are 8k and very well priced at $50 to $70 a pair. If your headlights continue to do the same thing, buy a replacement HID kit from xenondepot, who is a vendor here. I hear the Volt kit is popular and fairly inexpensive.

That's what happened to my car a few months ago. Installed new bulbs and the problem went away.

Congrats on the new ride and welcome to the IS family. Glad to hear the problem was just the bulb. Any plans for future mods?

Welcome!

Swap the bulb over from one headlamp to the other. This will narrow down whether it is the ballast or the bulb. More than likely, it'll be the bulb. Please don't get 8k; get something in the OE spec range (4300).

Thank you all for the hospitality again! my Future mods will be 8k bulbs for the head lights 30-35 tint all around, one 12 subwoofer and still looking at TE37 wheels or Vossen , might go with VIP style or stance
