Help: Jerk Did Some Damage. Pic.
Walking home and I see that my car's driver side internal mirror is hanging from the housing. *face palm*.
Some idiot reached into the mirror and simply pulled it out, completely separating the housing from the rear view mirror assembly.
Both attaching clips shattered.
Before doing anything, thought I'd post here. Think I can simply remove the housing that should be inside the assembly from the mirror and pop it back in?
I seriously hate people sometimes.

So I popped off the actual housing, reattached it the assembly, then attached the mirror to that. It definitely stripped out/completely broke the gears that turn the actual mirror.
Guess it's off to the dealer.
If someone was going to be an *******, this sure is kind of a strange thing to do. Reach up inside the mirror and then pull it out until it broke, then leave it there? I dunno. Still really upset and realize this is going to be probably a $500 fix, but at least they didn't do any damage to the car.

Anyone have any thoughts on whether I can fix this myself/which parts I would need?

They need to bring back old west justice. I would put cameras on the car, and if I caught someone vandalizing mine, I would hunt them down and pop a shell in their head. Dont want to hear liberal's opinions on that either. In their mind, they should be put up in a hotel, fed steak for all three meals, and "rehabilitated".. bahh.. kill em all and they won't do it again. Extreme? yep..love it... excessive? nah... if we start putting people like this out of society misery, then others won't do it either. I will now step off my soapbox.

ouch, hope its a cheap fix. I hate people that do that kind of stuff. No respect for other people's property. Had something similar happen to my tacoma that was parked on the street. Looks like someone either punched it or drove by in a car and hit it with their hand. $250 fix.
