I think the general logic is what you seem to be missing...

-Spend $5k more than the IS250 to get the IS350, gain 100hp

-buy the IS250...probably end up spending well over 8-10k by the time you turbo it, not to mention all the stuff that you'd break that wasn't designed to handle that much power in the first place (mainly...the entire drivetrain).

Hey, it's your [parents'] money...do what you want. But don't ask for advice and then get butthurt when it's not the answer you don't want to hear...

most of those external mods look like bolt-ons that you can remove from your 2is and install onto an is350 of the same model year(s); nothing one-off or permanent.

that makes the "i don't want to get rid of my AWD 2is because it's modded" argument moot.

If your parents were thinking twice about getting you the car in the first place, how do you think they react to a turbo (if it was available)? Not very well I think.

Just saying. Again your putting yourself out there by saying your parents bought you the car and you love it. But you say that a turbo kit NEEDS to come out when there is a more powerful version of the car you have available for almost half the cost? Again your logic is flawed

Just a heads up for the PPE headers.....

The headers themselves + install will be around $1K and will only give you ~15hp.

Thats about 1/3-1/4 of the amount that it will cost you to get a 350 for 100 hp.....

If "sick" these days means "spending more money to get less power" than yes, I see what you're saying.

Otherwise, not so much.

If you can't afford to trade up to a 350 you sure can't afford a GTR (and you really can't afford to fix one- the transmission alone is like 15k)

fixed for truth, because, again, there's no "mod" that can't be "reversed" unless you're too lazy to try.

(case in point: carbon-fiber wrapped interior? just trade with another 2is owner.)

actually, no.

because not only won't it be less powerful than an IS350, it'll also be less reliable.

i'm going to duck out of this thread, because we've really hit the end of this discussion several pages back.
