Toyota Techstream and Cable for $35.(sorry no pirated software discussions allowed)

Make sure that they supply the software and crack on CD otherwise you'll have a nightmare trying to get it from pirate sites.
As to the video, it was meant to be tongue in cheek, as my YouTube channel is mainly me ranting about over complicated things, while simultaneously fixing/building equally complicated things.
As it was, I was ranting about the poor quality of the cable I bought - it obviously works, but there is no support and the cable is known to corrupt some models of ECU (not the Lexus one).
I was perhaps a bit crosser than normal as having just got the car from the guy I bought it from, I had to spend a 30 mins figuring out how to replace a burned out headlight, which in the end required me to pull the air box out.

I'm about to pull the trigger one on of these as I will probably need to set tpms sensors and program a new key short term here....will wait for any confirmation on them working for cdn cars

By the way, I found a newer version of Techstream on a pirate site. 7.20. This is more recent that what is being advertised on aliexpress.com. If you're a Mac user, use Parallels or Virtual Box or Boot Camp and install a 32-bit version of Windows XP to run it. This apparently will not work with a 64-bit OS.
Waiting on my cable and my ISF steering ECU. Now I don't have to pay a shop to handle this for me!

I've not heard of the cable corrupting an ECU, but I haven't done that much research. From what I've read on Tundra and Tacoma forums, a lot of people use this with no problem. I doubt there's much, if any, difference between Lexus and Toyota ECUs.

Seems great! Is the software even in English? Also, I wouldn't buy it imo because I don't want to screw up the electronics with a cheap cable and software. I'd take the safe route with the dealership.
That's just my opinion lol

It's official Toyota Techstream software, but probably not on the legal side. So, yes, it is in English.
