Just to point out on the mpg claims. When fooling the ecu's, the calculations can also be fooled too and mostly do not realistically display the correct mpg's. I base this from my diesel truck that is "chipped", and my mileage display went from show an average of 18.3 mpg to 29 mpg's. Aint no way i was getting that and proved via hand calculation, I was still floating around 18 - 19. Hand cal = fill up, drive until next next fillup. Then calculate your miles against the gallons put in. VOLA!

Yea accept that point, i am basing it on the Computer Display, however because i fill up from empty each time, and my weekly jouney is very routined (ie house to office Mon to Fri etc) since the Chip, Im filling up less frequently.

Whilst i cant be sure of the difference in miles a tank gives me because i didnt record it before the Chip, im sure im getting 3 or 4 days extra between fills than before.

But i accept your point.

Keep in mind that there have been tons of people who say they have finally chipped, tuned, or successfully gotten a turbo on our cars. We havent heard of many of them after they made these claims, so were a bit hesitant to believe anything without proof.

It really doesnt matter what the trip computer says, you may be getting better MPG, but its not in the 40 range. Never go by those numbers, theyre normally overstated. Calculate your MPG manually when you fill up your car and let us know what you get.

What is the regular gas mileage on the IS220d supposed to be anyway? 40MPG doesn't sound too crazy for a diesel.

Does this guy accept ECU via airmail?

You asked and the general consensus is "chips" and "remaps" are near impossible for this car. What incentive does this "very smart guy" have to chip just your car and not sixty more IS's? The hundreds/thousands of hours that would go into it...you must have paid him very well. I'm sure he doesnt want to sell more chips. Can I have his contact info.?

Does your chip look like this

Here is a link to Topgear where they did a test drive of the Lexus ISd, they rated the MPG at 55mpg which is reasonable for a diesel. It also rated the car's 0-60 as 10s which is slow but again it is a diesel.

So if your getting 40MPG then I really don't see the chip as giving any gains. If anything it might have killed the MPG. Can't compare a diesel to a regular gas engine.

The world economy is crazy, just googled the current exchange rate, we pay $2.41 per litre of fuel Thats $9.11 per American Gallon i think!

FlyAudio units retail here for $3212

Anyway, most of our cars are Diesel. Certainly most of the Lexus are Diesel. Seen very few Petrol engines as they are considered less economical than Diesels and with our fuel prices etc thats a huge consideration.

Costs me $144 to fill my Lexus IS220d up each time!
Hey blui i m from Athens Greece and i have a IS250 manual. Can you tell your friend if he can do something with my ECU?
