Default Rear floor housing shield

My rear floor housing has broken off on near the right rear tire. It is Lexus part # 5749753030.

Any ideas if this part is really needed or can I just leave it off without problems. Thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks!

If its the short flap in front of the rear wheel, you don't need to have it. It there to reduce wind turbulence inside the wheel well, for better performance.

Yes, it is the short flap. Thanks for the quick response and I may just go without for awhile if it is so minor.
