Hello everyone, I am new to the forum, and I have this headlight issue on my 08 IS250. It has AFS and HID on it.

The driver side light turns off after lit it up for about a minute, and it would keep on another minute or so if I turn the lights off and turn them back on.

I could hear the humming sound from both ballasts when they are on, but only the passenger side one when the other one is out.

So that is the bulb's problem or the ballast's?

if u hear a humming its a good chance that you got a bad ballast

but doesn't humming mean that ballast is working fine? Because I can hear it from passenger side when the light is working, while the driver side's light is out(and no sound)?

sorry I was typying from my phone, is it a loud humming? I'm just speaking from my experience. its always going to humm but from what I noticed in my s2000 right before my ballast died it was humming louder than usual and about a week later my lights wouldnt come on.

best way to check if your ballast is bad is by swapping the ballasts and seeing if it works on the other side

try switching the bulbs from the other side and see if problem continues. if it still does, its your ballast. I have ballast for sale in the classifieds if you need them.
