Default weird tire wear

i have a 06 is250. not lowered with stock wheels on. took it to the shop and they done an alignment and said everything is good no need for an alignment. the outside of front tires are feathered. the inside is wearing fast to almost bald. the middle of the tires have about 50% of tread left. is this an awd thing or what? lexus dealer said dont worry about it. they mentioned that the IS and GS models have this issue because of the factory aggressive settings on the suspension. ummm.... seems wrong to me. any advice? bushings maybe. when i turn the wheel all the way left or right the car feels weird as if almost unstable.

Well from the factory the 2IS has some negative camber, so after a while you'll notice the insides are wearing faster then the rest of the tire. I had this issue with my last set of rear tires even though the alignment was fine. If your front tires are feathered on the outside I believe that would be a toe-in issue. If the alignment really is fine though and the toe is all good....then maybe check the bushings like you said next.

how many miles on the car? - suspension could be worn.
how often do you rotate the tires? - should be every 5k at most
what type of shop did you have the alignment checked? - make sure its not some college kid. second opinion would be worthwhile

In most cased, you'd hear or feel bushings before your tires start showing wear.

To extend the life of your tires you should take the tires off the wheels and then put them on the wheels on the opposite side of the car. This means that the inside of the tires are now on the outside.

Tire wear also is contributed by the aggression of the driver. Turning would create balding on the outside, though, wear on the inside of the tire sounds like your missing some rubber, bushings and such, that is if the alignment is truly perfect.

My 05 GS 430 has the same issue. I work at the dealer here in Omaha, so they usually don't B.S. me . They told me the same thing about frequent rotations and the aggressive suspension causing the wear on GS's and IS's . I would do what Clay Easto said and have them un-mount the tires and flip flop sides. If you had bushings or other parts going bad there would be a good chance that they would be unable to align the car due to having play in the suspension. The shops ALWYAS let you know when you have play in a supension piece because they want to sell you more stuff, so that works to your advantage in this situation! I'd rule that out, and just know you'll have to rotate more frequently
