"in your experience" . Good thing you aren't a finance major.
A 45 year old with $2M in liquid assets and $300k/year in after-tax income spends $45k cash to buy an IS350.

The same person could - in principle - spend $65k cash to buy an ISF outright.

That's how a person who can "truly afford" to buy an IS350 can also buy an ISF.

This person, with an after-tax monthly income of $25k/year, could "afford" (your definition) to spend $6250/month on a car and car-related expenses. The entire point of my post was to show you that people don't necessarily spend the absolute maximum amount they can on a car. If you think carefully, you were clearly making this implied assumption when you said "not all" IS350 owners can afford an ISF (note: I don't expect you to think through this because you're an idiot, frankly speaking).

you calling me an idiot, are you speaking anecdotally, lol.

think about this, most people in this thread did not buy their is350 in cash whole. so if they were making monthly payments, you are basically saying that they didn't really " truly afford" to get the is350. so if they couldn't "truly afford" the is350, that throws out your idea of them "truly affording" the isf as well. and that basically is irrelevant to this thread because i said "not all"

not all = some

the irony, oh the irony.

i'll let the other members deal with this. seems is350 owners justifying their purchase, which is irrelevant to this thread. back on topic now....

Wow what's going on everyone? We're suppose to be one happy family... I owned both cars and love both of them, but with all honesty, IS350 vs IS-F isn't a comparison. Without a doubt IS-F is whole 'heckalot' faster.

This sums it up for me.

I have a feeling that the reason some people are saying it doesn't "feel as fast" is because of the slightly longer 1st-2nd gear the ISF has compared to the 350 that gives the illusion that the 350 is accelerating quicker. Other than that I don't see how you can't feel the extra 100lbs of torque , this reminds me alot of comparing the 350 vs the 250. But shame on you F guys that are saying 350 owners can't afford a ISF (lol )

that being said, i'm faster than my friends m6, even he tells me my car feels fast as crap compared to his s85 engine with the m mode on. i let him borrow the F from time to time. and we all know the m6 is faster than the m5 but a hair. you guys are too funny.
Hmm jumping ship to a new 550i soon, so affordability isn't the problem, I have a new baby on the way and need a bigger car. I'm sure I'll get ripped on cause I am not buying the M5.. I could care less if the ISF is faster, It's just a car.

I did just that! I guess I'll throw off the curve, saying, hey I can afford it but dont want the ISF! haha

As far as performance, to the OP, yes it is faster, is it worth it? That's up to you!

My opinion is that we all get bored with what we have.I had the IS200 before (IS300 is not an option in Greece)and when i drove the IS250(unfortunatelly IS350 is not an option either)i thought that the power was more than enouph for me.After 3 years i can say that i m bored from my car power and i m looking for a sc conversion as my friend Elias did but i see that he also get bored of his car too.I m sure that i will get bored too and i m not sure if i want to spend more money that i will never going to take back.I sure wish i had an IS350 or an ISF (there are only 2 in Greece )

Hey, you the know first time I drove my F, I wasn't impressed either. The IS350 in sport mode has a more agressive throttle tip in than the F even in sport mode. Only when really flooring it do you feel the difference in 0-60. BTW, it's not a .3 second difference in 0-60. My slightly modified F does 0-60 in 4.0 (no roll out) and with 1 foot rollout does it in 3.7 seconds. Stock it used to do 4.3-4.4 seconds no roll out.

The E60 M5 doesn't do it for me. Actually, my header/exhaust F with some weight reduction was out trapping the M5 by 2 mph at the strip so if you think an F is slow, you'll be disappointed by the E60 M5. The new TT ones (Even the 550) is fast but they are big heavy cars and I wouldn't go tracking with it.

In my experience the IS-F was a whole different animal to the 350 just like the 350 compared to the 250. But if the money issue is going to come up, who would want an IS-F over a GT-R? I mean, come on. I saw a used '09 in my area in the low $60k range the other day.

Just to clarify the OP talking about feel not if its faster. By the way when I look down my Hyundai at 140mph I'm like wow how that happen haha... I can afford isf I choose not to. At then end of the day it's still an IS. It's like going from and dx to an ex civic. Let end the thread and keep the peace. Brandon im with you I can get an 09 gtr for 49k over an isf.

Wow, lot's of hate on the forum lately...

I think what the OP is getting after is exactly what I felt the other day when driving my first ISF. I built it up in my head so much, because all I kept thinking was the extreme difference in driving a 250 compared to a 350, what the heck was driving the F going to feel like...nobody is arguing that the ISF is not faster, but the difference in the "feeling" from the 250 to the 350 is drastic, and the "feeling" from the 350 to the F is not as much.

Just my $0.02...

Used IS-F's are going for around 40k. I don't see why it's not affordable. If I were in the market I'd definitely ****** one up.
