Default Unstaggerring for longer tire life

My IS350 is about a year old now with 12k miles. I have half of my tread left and have been thinking about what I will do when they need replacing. I like the 18" rims I have, but want to unstagger the car so I can do tire rotations (in addition to adding harder tires).

I put an ad in the classifieds, looking for someone with the same rims who might have the same interest.

I want all front tires on my car as I am willing to give up some traction for what I imagine would be some better mileage.

Here is my question: Will the rear tires fit on the front of the car without rubbing?

if you have the 255 40 18 and put them in front you will rub, their too wide...the oem tires that come with the car have crappy tread wear. I got about 15K miles out of them. I now have 19's on 225 35 19 front 255 35 19 rear with Continental DWS tires with almost 8K miles on them and tread wear has no show of wear so far...just my .02

ms2619, if you are correct, I will need to buy new rims for the rear
or find someone who is willing to sell part of a set

I can get the pair from Sewell for a grand, but I hate to pay so much.

Find a set of OEM 225/40/18s on the forum here, or Craigslist, or ebay.

BTW, you do know you can still rotate the tires with uni-directional tires...right? It will take the tire techs to dismount and re-mount the tires on the other wheel though.

GL!

Look at both the Continental Extreme Contact DW and DWS tires. You can flip them from side to side to help with feathering and prolong the life a little more AND keep your staggered fitment.

I see you're in Texas...go with the DW...Dry, Wet summer tire. No need for the DWS in your area...you don't get that much snow if any.
