thanks again to all who responded - i really appreciate it all. i'm going to quietly bow out of this thread because i don't want to draw any more attention to myself than i already have. oops.
and thanks for your input, but the car has already been paid off so there's no need for a family member to make any car payments. the car was paid off right when i bought it. anyhow, the title has been transferred as a gift with tax exemptions to an immediate family member and lexus corporate did, indeed, tell me that the csp would be performed regardless of whether or not the extended warranty were available at any given time as, as a few very knowledgeable members pointed out, the issue has been separated from that of warrantied issues as a measure of goodwill on lexus' part via way of an extension (or modification) of the original factory warranty. anyhow, i am able to keep the extended warranty in my name, although the primary account holder must be changed to said family member's name and adding a name will both cost no charge and will not count as a transfer, thus, should i wish to sell the car at some later date.
thanks all!
I would not make any changes until the car is fixed. Like someone said, have the fam. member pay for and drive the car until everything is resolved. Again, i don't know the whole situation. Good luck. Don't mess with legal crap, its a pain, try to resolve it at a lower level.
thanks all!
