Carbon Depositing Cleaning
Hey guys,
I have been asked a couple of times at the dealership to clean the engine for carbon desposit. Is this necessary? They say it's to improve the performance of the car to get good mileages and whatnot, but I haven't notice significant difference. My car is just over 100K.
Any thoughts?

Search the forum under IS250 carbon buildup. Don't quote me, but I think it's a pretty extensive fix, and has to do with removing the entire intake manifold for a cleaning. Is your car an IS 250? Not sure if it was covered by Lexus. Searching that in the forum should get you to a place that can answer way more questions than i can. Hope this points you in the right direction!

If you have carbon build up, the CSP covers the car for free up to 9 years/unlimited miles

If they are charging you $360, then this is probably one of those dealer recommend cleaning services. Don't buy into it.
If you have carbon build up and they can verify it, the CSP will cover replacement of pistons.
