Default g-spiders

well, i posted this in the wheel section but got no response, so perhaps some of you can help out here.

i just got (or received as a hanukkah gift) lexus oem 18" g-spiders
and am coming from the original wheels that look like this - (i have a 2008)

i'm worried that the original wheels aren't 18" wheels and i'll now have to buy a whole new set of tires. can anyone confirm or deny this? were the oem 10-spoke wheels shown above available in the US in a 17" size? and/or can anyone confirm whether or not i'll be able to just switch the tires onto the new wheels when they arrive should they both be 18"?

thanks!

Sewell parts has your answer.

The G-Spiders:
Size: 18x8/18x8.5
Bolt Pattern: 5-114.3
Offset: 45mm
Weight 27.65 lbs - 12.54 Kilograms

The OEM 10 Spoke:
Size: 18 x 8 inches
Bolt Pattern: 5-114.3
Offset: 45 mm
Weight 27.65 lbs - 12.54 Kilograms
Accepts TPMS Sensors

Btw - these are the only 17" style wheels in US: http://is.sewellparts.com/accessorie...2011/2165.html
Size: 17 x 8 inches
Bolt Pattern: 5-114.3
Offset:
Weight
Accepts TPMS Sensors

Assuming both sets are staggered, your tires should be fine. Just in case, post the tires sizes for confirmation.

Thanks!

my tires are hankook ventus v12 evos

the rear size is 255/40 zr18 994
the front size is 255/40 zr18 924

the last number, whatever it stands for, is the difference between the rear and front tires.

sound good? i can work my way around some portions of the car but wheels are completely new to me, so thanks in advance for the help!

Looks like you previously had a square set up. Most likely because your original 10-spokes were 18x8 only. Do you know if your new G-spiders are staggered (18x8 and 18x8.5) or square (18x8 for both front and rear)?

If your new G-spiders are a square setup as well, then you're good to go.

nope, i ordered the staggered setup - because sewell told me that the front were different than the rear and so i ordered two "front" wheels (18x8) and two "rear" wheels (18x8.5).

i'm going to have to buy a new set of tires, aren't i? damnit!

edit: i totally wrote down the wrong numbers and went out to check the tires once again to make sure and i'm glad that i did - i found a major difference and it does seem as though my setup is staggered.

the rear size is 255/40 zr18 994
the front size is 225/40 zr18 924

will this work or will these tires look funky with the g-spiders? thanks again for your help!

i'll definitely be selling them when the time comes to have the new rims installed! i have to figure out everything first - they are still in the packaging, hanukkah isn't over and with christmas right around the corner, shops are going to be closed, etc., etc., etc.

but i'm glad to know that the tires i have now will fit the new rims. buying another set of tires just isn't in my budget at the moment and that would majorly suck if the rims were to just sit in the garage unused until i were able to purchase a new set of tires.

Yeah, like Giantsfan said, with your new wheel dimensions (the rear size is 255/40 zr18 994, the front size is 225/40 zr18 924), they'll fit your new wheels perfectly.
