Need advice on Replica GFX Front.

Random story:
I was at my local Lexus dealer parts counter the other day getting some wiper blade inserts, and had the guy price out a stock GFX lip. He said that he couldn't get them painted anymore and that he would have to source it.
When I asked about Sewell, he stopped me and said.. "You know, Lexus doesn't make these anymore.. they're all replicas..".
Huh?
According to him, Carson Toyota bought the mold off of Lexus when they knew that it was being discontinued, and is having them made by a 3rd party.. and is selling them wholesale to Sewell.
I have no idea if that rumor is true.. just thought it was interesting.

IMHO..
..and if you read closely, they are kind of admitting it in so many words..
