Default Engine Revs a little Higher in the Morning

It's a 2007 IS-350 with about 56K miles on it. No major engine work or issues other than maintenance work.

I'm currently in Nor Cal and it is a little colder in the Morning. About 35-40F degrees. But the car is parked in a garage and according to my climate control it about 58F in the garage when I start the car.

After starting the car and letting it sit for about 90 seconds, I drive off slowly (under 2500 RPMS). After driving like a mile and waiting at a stop light, I notice the car revs at about 1000 rpms instead of the usual 600 rpms. When letting off the brakes, the car would move pretty quick rather than the usual creep / crawl when the car revs at the usual 600 rpms.

Is this just the cold weather or is there something more serious with the car. The car has Mobil 1 5W-30

Thanks.

You car is still warming up. It's normal. Drive easy until it's fully warm then you can push it.

Also when it's cold, it will hold the gear longer and would not let the car go to 6th either until its warm.

Normal. All cars do this when cold. In the old days, there was something called a "choke" that kept the rpm's up until warm. Now it's all electronic, but the same effect.

Oh yeah!! The manual choke!! I remember those days when I was kid. If the operator of the vehicle doesn't adjust the choke properly, the car would stall out!

Cold......... man I wish I lived where you are! We get down to -30 to -40 Celsius here overnight which is about -22 to -40 Fahrenheit, lol. Mine stays around 1500 rpm trying to get warmed up and eventually goes to normal rpm's when warm....

I get the same deal in the morning now because of the "cold" weather. It's totally normal. I noticed running 0w30 oil instead has made the car feel a little smoother during a cold start and when initially driving the car to get it warmed up. Not a huge difference though.

completely normal. When I start my IS250 its loud in the parking lot but after 2-3 mins of idling it shuts up. then about 5-10mins norman driving it is completely warmed up and shifts normally.

Yea...I figure it was the "cold" weather. But it doesn't do on all mornings while the temp is about the same every morning. So I just wanted to be sure.
