SOLVED: engine stalled and check vsc on after engage snow mode
I was sitting at a stop light in my 2006 IS 350 with my foot on the brake and the car in drive and I switched the car out of power mode into normal and then into snow mode. As soon as I put the car into snow mode the car stalled and everything shut off completely. So I restarted the car and Check VSC along with all of my gauge warning lights were on.
I put the car back in normal mode and drove to a stopping point, put it in park switched in back to snow mode and then back to normal, shut the car off, took off the gas cap and put it back on securely tightened and let the car sit for 20-30 minutes.
Then I drove the car all night, went out with my friends to some clubs, went out to eat. The car was driven on and off and parked on and off several times for fairly extended periods. Check VSC and all the cluster warning lights are still on.
Any ideas as to the problem? Did I break something?
EDIT: SOLVED
False alarm, Check VSC and warning lights finally shut off. Looks like it just took time to reset. It appears that you should not engage snow mode while the car is in drive.

I have engaged the snow mode while driving and never had a problem. I would try it again after you get the codes pulled and see if you can reproduce the issue. This is not normal.

Doesn't sound normal. Just got about a foot of snow in Omaha, NE and I've been flipping through modes everyday depending on how bad some streets are here. Never had an issue going to snow mode while in drive - or any other mode for that matter.
I would try to reproduce. You will not want this to fail on you the day that you need it.
I have an IS350 AWD.
