There are specific conditions required for the system to operate. Under almost all circumstances, you won't notice any difference at all.
Jeff
I read the BOS operates when the gas and brake are pressed simultaneously, then the BOS system cuts down engine power. Are there any other specific conditions applies ?
look what i just got. i do not believe i have had the brake override system put in because last year when they change my seals and gaskets they said my brake switch is bad. who knows i was sure if this paper was legit but ill look into it.
I got the same thing yesterday. I was surprised there was no mention of a "cash settlement", which was the inspiration for this thread. Only mentions coverage of specific future repairs. Guess we will wait and see.
Only in the USA will these bullsh11t lawsuits go through not get thrown out LOL. (umadbro?)
"In keeping with our core principles, we have structured this agreement in ways that work to put our customers first and demonstrate that they can count on Toyota to stand behind our vehicles," said Christopher Reynolds, Toyota vice president and general counsel.
This is their $1-billion statement. Well worth it IMO. I'm NOT getting rid of my Lexus (Toyota) just because a handful of imbeciles freaked out when their floor mats jammed the gas pedal. These Americans, in general and not just you guys on here (unless you were part of the class-action-the you too), should sue Darwin's theory instead.
states cash maybe involved if you crashed due to accelerator pedal sticking, or got charge to install the brake override systems.... so forth, its on the other side of the card.... the paper just seems terribly informal.

It's a relatively simple system. The system activates when the brake is pressed after the gas pedal. Pressing the brake pedal first and then the gas pedal does not activate it.
just went to the toyota settlement and entered my VIN and it said "Your vehicle is a subject, please wait to receive postcard and file claim accordingly once pin # is received" Im guessing if you own a "subject" vehicle you are eligible for a claim.... who knows. hopefully ill receive my postcard soon
