Default Possible engine issue

Car has 107,000 miles. It's idling at 1,000-1,100 rpms. It is a possible 2nd car I may buy. I was guessing it was due to the car sitting on the used car lot for so long. But even after letting it warm up to operating temperature, taking it for a test drive and redlining her a few times then turning the ignition off and starting it up again it was still idling around 1k rpms.

It is a 2007, could it be the engine rebuild tsb was never done, or carbon buildup? They're asking 11,500 for it, should I stay away from it?

Also does the 2007 model have a fixed steering wheel? And when in S mode it takes about a second to switch gears after the paddle click, and when you engage S mode at a stand still it is in 4th gear. Is that normal as well?

Honestly, $11,500 is pretty cheap for an '07 even at 107K miles. My IS350 idles at about 800 RPM even when warmed up in the colder weather now. The thing with the S mode is completely normal, it displays 4 whenever you put it into "S".

I'd just bring it to have it inspected by a Lexus mechanic and decide from there. You can also check service records done at the Lexus dealers from the Lexus site using the VIN.

check service records, the idling is a little high but as you said it could be because of carbon build up but thats nothing that too major if it kept well...and see if a local Lexus dealer is close by and have them look at it. As said above the S mode goes automatically to 4th gear and the response is a bout a second...unfortunately it's not a ISF or ferrari so we don't get the split second responce lol

Ya I'm coming from a ISF. Checked the service records through the myLexus app. It has had 2 owners documented through Metro Lexus, all maintenance up to 77,000 miles done there. Also has had the front and rear bumpers plus steering rack and pinion replaced at 42,000 miles. I'm gonna guess an accident but thereafter no indication on Carfax of one plus no air bag repair.

The dealer selling it now as well as carfax claims one owner, but at 30k Metro Lexus shows a trade-in for a large suv, and resold it CPO a month later.

I'm getting a pic to show the high idle, and I'll see if theyll split the cost to have it checked out at Metro

In these pics you can see the needle resting at 1k at idle and warmed up. And its a 2006 sorry

*Edit: Also called Metro Lexus to ask about the 2 owners. They said it was just one owner that leased the car, then decided to buy the car. As for the repairs the owner backed into his motorcycle denting the bumper. The front was due to wanting the F style front.

I did a quick KBB search on this car with a Cincinnati zip code and suggested retail at that mileage is $15,960. Mind you, I didn't select any additional options. If this car has luxury or premium package the value will be higher. I'm really surprised to see an $11,500 price tag on an IS..... This one may be worth haggling over!
