Radio dash kit FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!
#76
Update, Scosche is never releasing this kit lol. It was showed at CES 2013. CES 2014 passed and it's still "delayed". I've decided to get my dash altered by a serious pro. When there's a major update, I'll post here. (or maybe start a new thread).
Hopefully this all gets done soon, I've placed my order for certain "things"

Today the process (fabrication) began ... Many of you are in the know, and know who Rafa and Doug are from Soundman in California.
If not, check out Amplified on YouTube. (it's a web-show)
Single DIN Sony headunit to control it, got the PAC TATO interface to retain the car's digital amp turn on (will do a better system later, as this is a pretty hardcore mod alone). I wish I had the talent these guys have.
It's iPad Air time

More pics.... what Rafa started with, where he left off today. Looks like the ashtray and lighter are going to be the new home for my clock/airbag/hazard button.
The single din will be mounted on the bottom half of the dash, behind the iPad (which will be removable via a side slider). They are retaining ALL THE CIRCUIT BOARDS so this install should work. Key word is "should".
More pics as soon as I get them.

More pics later I think (it's all dependent on when he sends them).

Hahahahahahahaha ...
For those who are about to ask about the airbag lights, hazards, and clock.... The wires are going to be extended from the ribbon cable from the main circuit board, and I'm going to attempt to relocate it to the ashtray/lighter area below the radio.

More pics .. I ended up sending Rafa an ashtray assembly so he can relocate the hazard button and airbag lights into it (if I lose the clock, so be it). I also removed my silver trim pieces that run between the bottom of the head unit and the center shifter console and sent those to him to use as a guide. This way he can modify the bottom of the dash if need be so the fit is guaranteed to be flush when it's all installed. There is still plenty of work to be done. (He also needs to do a cut out near the bottom for a single DIN head unit which will communicate with the iPad via USB, the Sony MEX-GS600BT app remote radio), & he needs to relocate the HVAC circuit board from the CD changer behind the iPad somewhere). It may be about a week until I get some more major updates on this as we have to wait for the pieces I sent him to ship.
The last pic was off Doug's (Soundman's) instagram so sorry about the lack of high resolution on that one lol.
