Default Been thinking about trading my 08 IS250 for a 3rd Gen GS.

A little bored with the IS, wouldn't mind a little more power. And I love the was the GS looks also. Still not sure but I was planning to test drive one this weekend just to see how I liked it. Any opinions on the GS?

Is your current IS a 250? I really like the 3GS's. It is a bigger car, so they don't feel quite as grippy as the IS's in the twisty's, and I personally feel like the suspension feels more "floaty". This can be solved very easily with some poly sway bushings and new springs though. I really enjoy the extra rear seat legroom, and power compared to the IS250's. Your best bet is to drive one. I think it's a decent upgrade as long as YOU like the ride.

Agreed with second poster. I do like the GS a-lot. I opted not to get one as they were bigger and I rarely have 3 passengers in my car. I did enjoy the softer ride however. Felt more luxurious.

Test drive it, you always have the IS350 to fall back on.

The new GS drives much better than the 2IS... Much more sporty (I drove the f-sport).

It's a great car

I haven't driven one, but did do a slow drive by in the Lexus lot the other day. Not looking to trade mine by any means, but wanted to check em out. Very nice!

you will be just as bored. it only has 306 horses, i would think is the same engine as the is350. want fun? get ISF.

You won't get bored going from an IS 250 to any 350 whether it is a 2nd or 3rd gen IS or a new GS. The 350 engine is awesome. Almost all competitors have switched to turbo to get the same performance. I like natural, not boosted power.

Ever driven a turbo car in the mountains? Many years ago, I drove an AWD Eagle Talon TSI to the mountains. I got 25mpg all the way there, and got about 10mpg when in the mountains. Impossible to stay out of the boost when climbing hills and it killed the gas mileage. Car was fun as hell, but I couldn't believe the difference. Maybe for a weekend car, but not a daily driver....
