Rec 90 fuel
I passed a Valero gas station here in FL and saw on the price board that they sold a fuel called "rec 90". Apparently this is a 90 octane ethanol free gasoline. I've never heard of this before, so I started doing some reading up on this and others have been observing slightly better fuel economy using this fuel. Could an ethanol free like this be damaging to our 2IS engines? Would there be any improvements in performance?

Yes, you'll see better performance (assuming what we're talking about here is really Ethanol and lead-free, 90 grade octane). I've done this sort of experiment over the years as I travel to Colorado frequently - going through UT, there are a few stations that didn't have Ethanol mix fuel shipped to them, and usually gained an average of 1 - 3 mpg on freeway driving.
Try posting in the regional forums, as I've never seen Rec 90 here in California. Most likely a limited market thing.
