Default 3M Product that removes "Sticky"

I removed that plastic covering that is around the different gears, P, N, R, D, etc. on interior. It had started to peel .

I remember reading other posts about people who had removed this plastic sticky covering and still
had residual plastic stuck around the area. They talked about using a certain 3M product to remove
the rest of the stickiness.

Can someone please give me a heads up.

Cheers
mrjazz

This stuff works awesome. It is the 3M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner. This may be what you are talking about.

You may not believe me, but WD40 works great as an adhesive remover. Just wash it when you're done. I've even used it to assist with the removal of pinstripes.

I've always used Turtle Wax tree sap, bug, and tar remover on everything! Works like a charm.

Here is the product i use. I worked in signage for a long time and this was a constant issue. This is something that you can buy directly at Advanced Auto Parts. I swear by this stuff.

This. Or lighter fluid. It is mentioned on the label.

Magic tape, alcohol or nail polish should work on the residue.
