No idea what DOT is. That a US standard/requirement?
So I am assuming all cars have this and that I am not going crazy thinking that it has no actual function in terms of being a light and it is just for reflector/decorative purposes.
Its been bugging me for too long!

So its not just me it drives mad then! ![Woohoo](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/woohoo.gif)
Just so I know, do you need to remove the WHOLE headlight assembly, stick it in the over/heatgun open it up etc or can you remove a few bits (as per installing a HID kit) and then just "pull it out" somehow?
Depending on how much of a chore it is to do, I may just leave it alone.

Oh, ok. Never heard of it. Guess we would have a similar body here in the UK....
Only thing I know from US TV is the DMV.
I would assume that it is standard as I am in the UK.
I understand about the rear ones as that makes sense as they are red etc. But orange is used as indicators, so I have no idea why they used orange as a front reflector. Well I guess it is more on the side of the car despite being part of the headlight so maybe that is why.
Did not know that. Maybe it is a US and asia requirement (or a requirement from their largest market) and it was just easier to put them into all headlight assemblies?
I have never knowingly seen this before on any other brand.
I think overall, they will probably just stay there for now. Maybe one day and I mean MAYBE, I will attempt to either relocate the indicators to that space or use it for some other interesting lighting feature.
Just glad that I no longer think that it is a light and expect it to do anything more than just look orange.
Thanks guys
