Default Check VSC!! P2006

Hi everyone I just pick up my 2008 is250 mt. So far this is my 3rd Lexus and this is the one that gave me the most problem. My Check VSC came on last night. When I got home I put my scanner on it and it reads P2006 "intake manifold runner control stuck closed bank 1" Has anybody else experienced this? When I got home turn the car off and on and it went off. But when I went for another driver it came back on. Any info will help.

This is why I am so grateful that I bought the Lexus extended warranty. This car has given me more problems than my previous two cars combined.

I had the same problem.

BAD GAS.

Fill her up with Shell V power and the light should eventually go away.

Remove your intake pipe.
spray brake cleaner in the intake manifold.
Let it soak up then brush with toothbrush inside the intake manifold as deep as you can.
Wipe clean with rag.

I have this problem as well. I can tell you its not bad gas. My is350 have seen the dealership twice already for the Check VSC issue. The first visit they said Im using low quality fuel. For the record I've always used Shell V power 92 octane. So I said okay simce then I started using Chevron supreme 92 octane. Second visit explained to them I did what they suggested and the problem still persist. They did some more diagnosing and told me my battery is going bad and that its not powering the vsc stuff. So this time I'm out $185 for a new battery part and labor. Few days later the infamous check vsc light comes on again. F***ing stealership done robbed me. At this point I'm afraid the next visit will be at Acura. Previous car were honda and acuras never really had problems. Made the switch to Toyota/Lexus after I totaled my 06 RSX Type S. Might be looking at the new ILX.

The Check VSC light usually comes on because the car is programmed to disable traction and stability control when the check engine light is on. The check engine light comes on for a huge number of different problems -- you need to read the codes with an OBD-II scan tool to find out which one or ones is causing the issue. In the case of the original poster, his code is P2006 "intake manifold runner control stuck closed bank 1". Unless your car is also throwing a P2006, it's not likely you have the same issue as him.
