Which was the case on my rear deck. It will pop and then you need to hook it up, but with the new struts, it will just lift it without assistance.

My new lift struts on the front, that's something else, 1st they send me longer ones at least 1/2" longer so I can to force it to get it installed. Now when you open the hood, I need to assist it so it does not slam up...cost of not buying OEM struts, I am ok with it.

Reading this, I've realized my trunk struts are completely shot. I was actually wondering if all 2IS felt like they had no trunk lift support.

eBay - here I come!

i got $26 amazon generic ones. Worked like a charm, it didn’t have the oem style inside clip, so I picked some $0.10 “e-clips” at ace hardware and used that to keep the ends in the pegs. Beats $65 eBay ones.

the exact ones I used, Haixun, arent availble anymore only same $50 one on ebay. just search is250 trunk lift.
