Stoodo, as long as you are happy is all that matters. Everybody has their own opinion of what they like and kudos to you for having the b@lls to cut your trim and try it! If it didn't work out all you have to do is get 2 new trim pieces.
I'm going to wait for the next iPod mini, hopefully it'll have the retina screen.

I appreciate the comments.... People act as if I cut up some high dollar irreplaceable collectors car. No, I cut up $40 worth of plastic that can easily be replaced.
Am I happy? No I wish I did the cuts better, and perhaps I'll give it another go. That spot is ideal for the tablet though (assuming you have nav)
its a good start but its not finished... if it were me id cut more off towards the shift **** to give you more room to slide it i and out. then tape up ur ipad with masking tape and get it in the position you want it in using something to prop it up how you want it when its done. in the areas where the ipad will make contact with the holder, use some kind of spacer weather it be more tape or a thin piece of wood, then fiberglass it in. use body filler (bondo) or long strand kitty hair to do more filling in and touch ups of the areas that still have gaps, sand it , prime it, paint it or wrap it. if your paint it, i would consider putting cloth on the areas where the ipad touches so you dont scratch it putting it in or taking it out of your new custom ipad holder and if your not good at fiberglassing or dont have any experience, take it to any place where they do car audio installation and spend a hundred bucks or so to make it look like its a good upgrade and not something just slapped in there.
I know the feeling. I get the same reactions on my mods too.
Where in Florida are ya? I haven't seen ya at any meets, you should come out to the next one.
