2008 IS350 - CPO or no Warranty
Looking to purchase 2008 IS350 - currently have two options available. Both are loaded with similar options (sports package, Nav, etc.) and both are approx 40k+ miles. One option is CPO with asking price of $27K. Other has no warranty, but asking price is $24k. Is the CPO warranty worth the extra $3K? I expect these vehicles are reliable, but they are still machines nonetheless - and all machines are prone to break at some point... Welcome experienced opinions / perspectives.
Thanks!
Thanks!

cpo is hands down the better option... plus first free maintnence and so on... with the guarentee's
also make sure EVERYTHING WORKS. because its cpo doesnt mean they messed didnt something up...
we cpo cars all day at our dealership and the body shop constantly messes up park sesnsors or trims or electrical.

cpo all the way!!! but before you buy either vehicle..before it runs out the 50k warranty...do all inspection . if it has chrome wheels make sure there is no corroding on the barrel . if there is they will replace it . i had that happened to me. just trying to help out a future brotha!!!

Definitely get the CPO! Even little things on these cars add up (its a luxury brand - they all cost $$ to repair). Replacing my rear view mirror alone under CPO warranty saved me from a $900+ repair bill. Had the glove box lock replaced (probably about $200) so right there alone is about $1k. I know there at least a couple other things as well that have been replaced, but covered thankfully by the CPO warranty. You mention that both models have Nav, if you do a quick search, you'll see there's a good number of members that have issues with the touch screen on the nav no longer working. That only is at least a $2,000 repair bill at the dealer - that your CPO warranty would cover!

you guys rock - thanks for the helpful info. Good point re: leverage on pricing using the other vehicle. How about one more kink into the equation - thoughts on a '07 IS 350 (CPO) but without Nav and Bluetooth (so basic model IS 350) - asking price $22k. I'm nervous about '07 as I hear there are more issues than with '08. Thoughts?
